Tadataka Inou created a map of whole Japan in the late Edo period. The map has a great accuracy of more than 99.3% compared with
a recent map. This is a former house of Tadataka Inou. The main building of his house is told to be designed by Tadataka Inou himself.
There are a statue of Tadataka Inou and stone monument
showing the start point of his measurement of Japan.
On the both side of the Onogawa River, there remain some
dealers who has flourished as commercial city by the water
transportation from Edo era to Meiji era.
His house also situated in front of the river.
