Daikouin Temple is a temple of Jodo-shu sect, established in 1613 by Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa. The first chief priest Donryu was a noted priest who used a part of his estate for bringing up children of poor people under the name of his pupils. And this temple is familiar to everybody as Child-care Donryu.
